* We do not breed nor do we place birds with people who breed.
* We always promote responsible care and educate as much as possible.
* We have never sold nor used a bird for profit.
* We strongly encourage adoption over all other aspects in obtaining a bird.
* We completely oppose any breeder and or pet store that sells unweaned babies.
* We are completely against the mass marketing of baby birds. This is why
we have to run a rescue. As long as birds are in need of homes we will not
endorse or promote any captive breeding of birds.
* We are constantly working for better bird rights/laws. We fight and work to
change legislation to help us help them. We stand firm on any and all
Avian Welfare Rights. We ask you to please join us.
* We strongly caution any one thinking of surrendering their bird to a rescue
that will not allow you to visit prior to release of your bird. The same rule applies
to adoption. You need to see where birds are cared for, meet the bird in
an environment that they are comfortable in as this will help you
to see the birds true personality.
* We ask that before you consider any bird, you take the following into account;
birds are messy, they are loud, they are needy, and they live long, long lives.
A tiel can, with proper care, live 25 years and those years increase with size.
Please understand they bond so greatly to us, taking a bird into your life is
like deciding to raise another child. Please make plans
for your bird to be cared for if you are gone. Don't assume someone will
take it, ask. Your birds life could depend on it!
* Please make no mistake, visitors are always welcome at our rescue. We
do not have a staff, this rescue in run in our homes
Therefore, we ask you please to do a courtesy call
and not just show up. If we are at home we can usually have you come right then
and there. Thank you for understanding.
* Unlike some rescues, our very first question we ask when a person calls to
surrender a bird into our care is "what can we do to help you keep your bird?"
and that should be every rescues main goal. Keep birds in the homes they are
only exception is if harm or neglect is a proven issue.
* We work solely from our personal incomes private donations are 100%
tax-deductible, are always needed and very much appreciated.
*We, like every other 501c3 rescue, are required by law to show the public our
expense records. If you wish to see our expenses to include our veterinary bills,
food and toy bills, or other general rescue-related expenses, please ask!
